Trading Yesterday - Shattered
This has long been my favorite song of all time. I that been a minute since I played it. Tonight I had a quiet moment, headphones in for proper listening, I put this song on for old time sake.
Christina Aguilera’s “Dirrty” featuring Redman was the first track released from Aguilera’s “Stripped” album in 2002.
While only the 5th most popular song from the album chart wise it is remembered as the song that blew the doors off Aguilera’s persona as a teen pop princess, showing the multiple sides to Aguilera’s personality.
Several changes this week. Doja Cat fell off the top 5 but I have a feeling she'll be back soon. In the mean time Megan Thee Stallion made an appearance, and a new premiere from THE SCOTTS.
"And you can see my heart beating Oh you can see it through my chest I'm terrified but I'm not leaving, no I know that I must pass this test So just pull the trigger."
18 years ago today Vanessa Carlton’s “Be not Nobody” album was released. “A Thousand Miles” was the first track released from the album in February 2002. It spent 41 weeks on the Billboard Top 100, reaching number 5 at one point.
A true pop culture jam featured in the movie “White Chicks” and various commercials, “A Thousand Miles” is this week’s #ThrowbackThursday.
In an interesting collaboration, Sam Smith and Demi Lovato’s “I’m Ready” has been one of the top added songs to pop stations in the US this week. I could see this song becoming a heavily played summer jam. If you’re up for a song with smooth pop vocals check it out.
It's been 3 years since 2017's Wonderful Wonderful album was released. "Caution" is the lead single from what is so far promising to be another new classic album by The Killers called Imploding the Mirage.
A few days back I woke up with a song hook in my head. Couldn't place it, sounded like something Macklemore would do. I just kept humming it. Finally googled it and it was Lights Shine Bright.
Tonight while watching TV with the family, an infomercial comes on for a security light, without missing a beat we sing out "Lights shine bright everywhere we go."
"Music for the people, makin' music for the people."
The live versions are even better because Terrian performs the hook.
She's doing it right. "Don't Start Now" is trending top 5 right now, so strike while the iron is hot and drop a followup single. She really tapped into the disco revival happening right now, if she can keep this momentum going, this single should do well too.
